Project Description

Emerald was selected by PepsiCo to relocate and construct a new 1,500-square-foot Quality Control Lab for Gatorade along with a new 1,400-square-foot wellness facility within an existing production plant in Phoenix, Arizona. The project required the construction of a temporary quality laboratory and fitness area prior to starting construction of the new facilities. Once our team completed the temporary accommodations, the main construction began by building a containment area to house the new facilities inside the existing production area. Demolition, concrete saw cutting and removal all had to be completed in a manner that would not contaminate the products outside the containment. A subsequent challenge arose because this area of the plant did not have sewer waste lines flowing out of the building. So our team designed and installed a 500-gallon sewage lift station to accommodate the new facilities. We completed construction within the allotted four-month period without disrupting daily production.
