In May 2011 Emerald was awarded the design-build contract for construction of a new AirLife Denver crew quarters and helicopter hangar at the Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. The project consisted of designing and building a new 11,000-sqaure-foot, pre-cast concrete structure capable of housing both on-call emergency crew and aircraft. From conception to occupancy the project took nine months to complete. This included the design, submittal process, approval from the City of Lone Tree and construction. The schedule was a challenge, as was the small location, which was in the hospital’s parking lot. Our team used large excavation equipment and cranes to erect the pre-cast portion of the building, following strict safety guidelines to ensure a safe construction site.
